About the studio

We make software that respects childhood.

Potpourri Apps is an independent studio building learning apps we'd happily hand to our own kids — beautiful, genuinely educational, and private by design.

Our story

Started by parents, for parents.

Potpourri Apps began with a frustration every parent knows: handing a child a tablet and immediately worrying about what's on it. Too many "kids' apps" are stuffed with ads, nagging upsells, and quiet data collection dressed up as fun.

So we set out to build the opposite. A potpourri — a lovingly assembled mix — of small, delightful worlds where children can play and learn freely, and where parents never have to wonder what's happening behind the screen. The answer is always the same: nothing leaves the device.

Our promise, in one line: every Potpourri app is 100% offline, completely ad-free, and collects zero data about your child — built to COPPA and GDPR-K standards from the very first line of code.

What we believe

Children come first

Not advertisers, not data brokers. Every design decision is measured against one question: is this good for the child holding the device?

Privacy is not a feature

It's the foundation. We can't lose data we never collect, and we designed our apps so there's simply nothing to gather, sync, or leak.

Play is how kids learn

We hide real curriculum inside worlds so joyful that children don't notice they're building skills. Learning should feel like recess.

Craft over shortcuts

Hand-illustrated art, careful sound design, and adaptive difficulty. If it's worth a child's attention, it's worth making beautifully.

The family

Meet our guides

Every Potpourri app is led by a friendly animal companion — one consistent art style, a different character and world for each app, so kids always know where they are.
